What it is:
 
Jacuzzi® Alkalinity Increaser is a chemical product designed to raise the total alkalinity levels in hot tubs and spas. It works alongside the pH to protect hot tubs and spas from damage.

How it works:
 
Water with low total alkalinity (below 80mg/l) can become corrosive and stain hot tubs and spas. Low total alkalinity can also cause pH levels to fluctuate, leading to skin discomfort. Jacuzzi® Alkalinity Increaser works by raising total alkalinity levels in the water, which helps prevent damage to hot tubs and spas.
 
Important Information:
 
Available in two sizes: 1kg and 5kg.
Daily use is recommended.
Total alkalinity levels must be maintained between 80-120mg/l (ppm) at all times.
The amount of Alkalinity Increaser needed will vary based on usage.
To test sanitiser levels, pH levels, and total alkalinity (TA), we recommend using test strips.

Question
How do I apply total alkalinity in my spa? 
Answer
1. Ensure any bathers are out of the hot tub or spa.
2. Test your water using a testing kit to determine if the Total Alkalinity level is above 80ppm; if not, add as per the dose on the pack according to what you need with the pump turned on. This will allow it to circulate evenly.
3. Leave for 10 minutes (so the chemicals can work) then retest, and if not within the desired range, raise in 10mg/l ppm increments and repeat until correct.

How do I test TA levels in my hot tub?
Answer
We suggest using dip test strips to test the pH level, total alkalinity and sanitiser levels. They’re easy to use and provide quick and accurate readings, so you can make the proper chemical adjustments if required.
 
Question
How long do I have to wait after using total alkalinity in my hot tub?
Answer
We recommend waiting at least 2 hours after using TA before using your hot tub.
