Installing a hot tub can transform your garden into a relaxing retreat. To make sure the installation goes smoothly, thorough preparation is essential. This guide outlines vital steps that will help you set the stage for a successful hot tub installation.
How do I get a Jacuzzi hot tub into my garden?
Getting a Jacuzzi hot tub into your garden couldn’t be simpler whatever the size, your hot tub will more than likely be delivered on its side. All you need is a clear access area of 1.2 m and we’ll do the rest. Please check for any tight steps or obstacles and ensure that any overhead access measurements include +10cm, if in doubt, you can always send us a video.
As part of our commitment to you and your exciting new purchase we provide a site survey ahead of your day making sure that everything runs perfectly.
If there’s not enough space for access, you may need to consider taking down a gate or fence panel or even hire a crane to lift your hot tub over a wall, hedge, garage or house. If a crane is required, the hire can often cost anything from £850-£1200 + depending on your location and the company you chose. Prior planning is key and could save unnecessary additional bills. You’ll need to arrange for a crane yourself and our team will work with them to get the job done.

What do I need to prepare before my jacuzzi hot tub is delivered?
There are only five things you need to provide and think about before your install day.
Water - access to a hose pipe and outside tap so we can fill the hot tub with water.
Power - you’ll need a qualified electrician to do any electrical work on your home. For safety reasons it is recommended that all power outlets should be no less than 2 metres away from any tub or spa.
Isolation - an outside rotary isolation switch and 6mm three core steel wired armoured (SWA) cable is needed. The cable will need at least 2-4 meters of tail wire connected to the switch ready for us to hook up to your hot tub on arrival. We can only complete the installation of the tub or spa when all the power source electrical works has been completed. It is advisable to get this completed well in advance.
Foundation - when it comes to placement, the hot tub or spa should be installed on a flat level surface such as patio, decking or a concrete base. We can’t install your hot tub on soft ground as it will sink overtime and become uneven. Furthermore, a non-level base such as uneven patio slabs or decking will void your structural warranty as it could cause the base and internal frame to warp over time.
Space - When thinking about your tub or spa location, you should also consider things like steps, a place for your cover if you aren’t planning of using a cover lifter. If the tub or spa is being placed under cover like a pre-placed gazebo or other permanent structure, then please make sure that there is enough room for our technicians to place the tub.
It really is that straightforward. Technical questions about the base, specific electrical requirements will be answered during your site survey and don’t forget we’re always on hand to provide additional advice and guidance on installation ideas.
Prepare the Area for Arrival
When your hot tub delivery date approaches, make sure the area is ready.
Clear Obstacles: Ensure a clear path for the delivery team. This includes removing any garden tools, decorations, or furniture.
Adequate Space for Equipment: Make room for the delivery vehicle and equipment to manoeuvre. A clutter-free area will facilitate a smooth installation process.
Pet Safety: Keep pets secured away from the installation zone to prevent accidents or escape during the process.

Day of installation
Through the hot tub delivery and installation process a two to three-person team will position your hot tub and connect it to your pre-wired power source. Our technicians will also fill it, set it up for you and provide guidance on how to use it.
We have a range of specialist equipment designed and built for moving hot tubs and spas safely. Tubs and Spas are heavy, so in most cases we will use our purpose-built sledge to move your system into location.
Post-Installation Considerations
Once your hot tub is installed, maintenance is key.
Familiarise with Controls: Take time to understand the hot tub’s control systems, maintenance routines, and water care requirements. This ensures optimal enjoyment and longevity.
Establish Maintenance Schedule: Schedule regular cleaning to prolong the life of your hot tub. Consider establishing a routine that includes water testing weekly and deep cleaning every month.

Preparing for a hot tub installation requires careful planning and attention to detail. From assessing your space to setting up for maintenance, each step is important for your overall success.
By being thorough in your preparations, you create a welcoming garden retreat that you can enjoy for years to come. Investing time and thought into each stage will ensure a hassle-free experience and a delightful escape in your garden.
